Yezna Worku is the first woman in short story writing in Ethiopian literature. She earns her MA degree in folklore and literature and she has got her BA degree in Ethiopian languages and literature from Addis Ababa University. Yezna Worku served from communication expert to public and international relation director in different organizations.

She is known for her consistent support for the young and emerging writers throughout the country. Yezna published more than 9 short stories, novels and children’s books alone and with others as a co-writer.

She has ample experience as an editor and judge in literature contests organized by different organizations. She is well known personality in the Ethiopian literature family.
