Books nominated for the 2018 HOHE children book awards category will be announced on March 29 2018. A total of 10 shortlisted books will be announced on May 16 2018. 5 finalists will be released by the end of June 12, 2018, and the winner will be announced at the HOHE Awards Ceremony on second week of July 2018.
This Award is intended for a collection of new work by a single author; collections that include some previously published work will not be excluded, but at least three-quarters of a collection should comprise new poems.
The following eligibility criteria must be met;
- Books for consideration must have been written by an Ethiopian authors
- HOHE Award 2018 will accept books written in Amharic
- The selection will be made from books first published in Amharic language and first published in Ethiopia between 11 September 2016 and 10 September 2017. Books previously published elsewhere first will not be eligible.
